MergeGuard is a Shopify app. Other products share the name, and the first question below lists them.
How we build it
Merging customers in Shopify is permanent, so MergeGuard is built around the moment before a merge. It shows why each group of profiles looks like one person and lets you choose which details to keep when you review a group. Each merge ends with Shopify’s verification and a record in History. How it works shows each step, and Is MergeGuard safe? lists what MergeGuard never does. Every change we ship is listed on What’s new.

Questions merchants ask
Is this the same MergeGuard as the one for GitHub, Clio or AI code review?
No. MergeGuard for Shopify is a Shopify app that counts each customer once across all their profiles. It isn’t related to the GitHub pull-request policy engine at mergeguard.dev, the AI code review tool at mergeguard.ai, the Clio contact cleanup tool at mergeguard.net, the 2017 Merge Guard Chrome extension for GitHub, the mcp-merge-guard MCP server, a 2025 machine-learning security paper, or MergeGuard: Merge Orders, a different Shopify app that merges orders, not customers.
Where can I read reviews of MergeGuard?
MergeGuard has no App Store reviews yet. When merchants leave them, you’ll find them on the Shopify App Store listing. We don’t show ratings or testimonials on this site until real ones exist.
How do I contact the MergeGuard team?
Write to support@mergeguard.store for help with the app. For anything else, write to hello@mergeguard.store.
