Every change we ship to MergeGuard, newest first.

  1. A new website for MergeGuard

The new mergeguard.store explains each feature, what Shopify allows when you merge customers, and what can and can’t be undone, with help pages and comparisons.

MergeGuard has a new website. Here is what you can find on it.

The site counts page views and the actions listed in the cookie policy, such as Install free clicks, the price switch and FAQ answers, so we can see which pages help. The policy lists exactly what it records.

  2. Contact fixes, audiences and History

MergeGuard now fixes mistyped emails, builds audiences that count each person once with Klaviyo sync, and records every change in History with Shopify’s verification.

Three additions to MergeGuard for Shopify, released in October 2026:

    • Contact fixes. MergeGuard finds mistyped emails, such as gmial.com instead of gmail.com, and suggests a correction. It flags throwaway emails and never changes them. A confirmation shows how many emails will change before a fix applies, and you can undo a fix once. A fix doesn’t change the customer’s subscription. Read about contact fixes.
    • Audiences. Newsletter cleanup, win-back, VIP and Subscription (subscribers who may cancel) lists count each person once, even when their orders sit on several profiles. Sync a list to Klaviyo when you choose, or export it as a CSV. Read about audiences.
    • History with Shopify’s verification. Every change is recorded, with the details kept, Shopify’s verification and a snapshot of each merged customer. A snapshot is a record and doesn’t undo a merge. Read about History.
  3. MergeGuard is on the Shopify App Store

MergeGuard for Shopify finds duplicate customer profiles. Nothing merges until you confirm, or until you switch on automatic merging for strong matches or groups that need your judgment. It launched on the Shopify App Store.

MergeGuard for Shopify launched on the Shopify App Store.

MergeGuard is a Shopify app that finds duplicate customer profiles and merges them, with your confirmation or through automatic merging you switch on for strong matches or groups that need your judgment, so every order sits on one customer.

Shopify merges are permanent, so every merge starts with seeing why the profiles match, then your decision. See how it works.
