Which one fits your store
Choose UnifyMate: Merge Customers if

- You want to start with 5 free merges, unlimited duplicate scans and Klaviyo sync.

- You want newsletter, win-back, VIP and subscription lists (subscribers who may cancel) that count each person once.
- You want a History record of every change, with Shopify’s verification and a snapshot of each merged customer.
- You want suggested fixes for mistyped emails, each one undoable once.

“Not listed” means we didn’t find it on UnifyMate’s listing. It may exist in the app. Reviews and ratings show what a few merchants wrote. They don’t measure how either app will work on your store.
What stays the same with any app
Shopify refuses some merges, for example when a profile has, or has ever had, a subscription contract. UnifyMate’s listing doesn’t say how it treats those profiles. See why Shopify blocks a merge. Shopify’s own merge can’t be reversed, and MergeGuard’s merges are permanent too, so check what any app does before you rely on its undo, if it lists one.
How to decide
Try both on your own store. Look at a group you know well and check whether each app explains the match in a way you trust. Before your first merge, run the safe merge checklist.
With MergeGuard, nothing merges until you confirm, or until you switch on automatic merging for strong matches or groups that need your judgment. See how it works, or compare it with Shopify’s built-in merge, Singulary or Doppelganger. All the comparisons are on one page: compare duplicate customer apps.
