Undo a contact fix

Open the contact fix in History and undo it. A contact fix can be undone once, and the undo is its own record that uses 1 fix. A contact fix doesn’t change the customer’s subscription. Merges work differently because Shopify merges are permanent and can’t be undone.

At a glance

  1. Open History

Every contact fix is saved in History.

  2. Open the fix and undo it

You can undo any fix once. The undo is its own record in History.

  3. Know what it costs

A contact fix can be undone once, and the undo is its own record that uses 1 fix.

  4. Check the subscription

A contact fix doesn’t change the customer’s subscription, and neither does the undo.

What an undo does

A contact fix changes a mistyped email to the suggested one. Undoing it reverses that fix. A contact fix can be undone once, and the undo is its own record that uses 1 fix.

A contact fix doesn’t change the customer’s subscription, so the customer’s marketing status stays as it was before the fix.

What can and can’t be undone

Action Can it be undone?
Contact fix Can be undone once. The undo is its own record and uses 1 fix.
Merge No. Shopify merges are permanent. MergeGuard keeps a snapshot.
Marked not a duplicate It can be restored to your list. Restoring doesn’t undo a merge.
Klaviyo profile merge No. Klaviyo profile merges can’t be undone.

Before you fix many emails at once

The confirmation shows how many emails will change and how many fixes they use, and says “You can undo any fix in History.” Fix mistyped emails before you merge, so the right address is there to keep. Read how contact fixes work, and check how your allowance counts fixes.

If a merge is the problem

A merge can’t be reversed. Run the safe merge checklist before you confirm the next one, and write to support@mergeguard.store if something looks wrong in History.
